How We Work
Editorial Standards
GlobeTrailGuide covers destinations on every continent, and we owe readers a clear answer to a fair question: how do we actually know this, and can it be trusted? Here is our process.
Where our information comes from
Morocco is reported firsthand — it's where GlobeTrailGuide started, and our Morocco Unveiled coverage draws directly on our own travel there. For every other destination, each guide is built from primary sources: national and regional tourism boards, embassy and government visa pages, airline and rail authorities for transit information, and recent, verified traveler and correspondent accounts. We do not scrape or reword other travel sites — every guide is written fresh from these sources.
Fact-checking and updates
Prices, opening hours, visa rules and seasonal advice go out of date. Before publishing, we check practical details against the current source rather than relying on older write-ups, and we revisit guides periodically to catch drift — a visa policy that changed, a site that closed, a season that shifted. Our Trail Score™ and Vibe Compass™ ratings are judgment calls made against a consistent rubric (authenticity, accessibility, adventure, affordability, and travel style fit), not paid placements.
Corrections
If you spot something inaccurate or out of date — a closed attraction, a stale price, a changed visa rule — tell us at our contact page and we will verify and fix it. We would rather hear about a mistake than have a reader find out the hard way mid-trip.
Editorial independence
GlobeTrailGuide earns commission when readers book hotels, tours or insurance through links on this site — that's disclosed in full on our Privacy Policy. No partner pays for a better ranking, a recommendation, or inclusion in a guide. If we link to it, it's because we'd recommend it with no commission attached.
