Santo Antão hiking
One of the world's great trekking islands — knife-edge volcanic ridges plunge into impossibly green terraced valleys where sugarcane, coffee and villages cling to near-vertical slopes. The cobbled path from Cova crater down the Paúl Valley to the sea is an unforgettable, jaw-dropping walk.
The beaches of Sal & Boa Vista

Fogo's volcano
The island of Fogo is dominated by Pico do Fogo, a near-perfect 2,829m volcanic cone you can climb — the highest peak in the country. Inside the vast caldera, villages farm rich black volcanic soil and produce a surprising, prized wine, all in the shadow of the still-active giant.
